kevin becker, children's pastor

Kevin Becker is a native of the South. He was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia where he resided until moving to Collegedale to attend Southern. Kevin met his future bride, Melinda, his freshmen year and has been in love with her ever since. They married in 1996.

Upon graduating with his religion degree, Kevin and Melinda moved to Andrews where he received his Master of Divinity. Kevin then moved back to his beloved South and was the Chaplain/Bible teacher at Atlanta Adventist Academy (his Alma Mater) for 5 years. Kevin loved hanging out with the young people, coaching sports, playing hackey-sack, developing a puppet team, and directing drama. While living in Atlanta, Kara Jean was born. Everyday she brings spunk, energy, and laughter into their lives.

In 2004, Kevin, Melinda, and Kara moved back to Collegedale to be the Children & Youth Pastor of the Collegedale Community church. Kevin loves that our church is community focused and has dubbed himself, The Story Guy. He travels to numerous public elementary schools and shares the love of God through stories, magic tricks, humor, music, and puppets. Kevin also loves directing Kingdom Kids, a ministry designed to assist parents in raising spiritual champions. (To see what is going on in Kingdom Kids check out their webpage.)

In April of 2006, twins Kaleb and Megan were born.

Kevin loves Jesus, loves young people, and loves bringing the two together. He would love to have you help him in Kingdom Kids, Sabbath School, or kid-friendly community outreach.
