Head Deaconess:

The head deaconess oversees and participates in the following ministries: communion (quarterly), new members potluck (quarterly), bereavement dinners (when needed), housekeeping (on-going), and hospitality (as needed). The head deaconess has formed groups of women willing to serve in the above ministries with a leader for each area. We are Sisters in Service ready to be a blessing to others. Communion Service Ministry

Communion is held quarterly on Friday evenings at 7:00 pm. The Elders will hold a service in the sanctuary followed by foot washing and prayer in divided rooms in the fellowship hall. This is a wonderful ministry because you can get a blessing while serving others. If you would like to help with communion, please contact Linda Davis at (h 423-238-5105).

New Members Potluck Dinner

New members potluck is held quarterly for new members only. At each new members potluck our pastor, Jerry Arnold, will give information about the church ministries. The deaconesses will assist in serving the food and cleaning up after the meal. If you would like to help with new members potluck, please contact Lisa Guajardo at (h 423-396-2906 /c 423-432-5674).

Bereavement Dinner Ministry

Bereavement dinners are provided to church members in their time of need. The dinners can be held at a variety of locations following a memorial service: our church fellowship hall, family homes, or a funeral home. During times of bereavement all deaconesses should be prepared to serve. Deaconesses may be called to prepare a dish and/or help serve and clean up the meal. Housekeeping Ministry

People using the kitchen and fellowship hall are required to clean up after their event. A checklist will be given to each group to return to the church office. However, housekeeping teams check and clean the kitchen and/or do laundry as needed. For more information please contact Elsie Davis at (h 423-238-4357/c 678-234-5997).

Hospitality Ministry

Hospitality teams prepare and serve refreshments every Sabbath morning. They also help with clean up and usually sign up for shifts of an hour and a half. For more information please contact Kristina Madrigal at (c 423-490-0956).
