Collegedale Community Church Announces
a Nationwide Research Project
Collegedale Community Church has contracted with Waterhouse Public Relations to embark on a groundbreaking research project to discover why so many people have left the Adventist church, what brings them back and what our communities are looking for in a church experience.
Currently there are more than a million non-attending Adventists nationwide. It is Waterhouse Public Relation’s goal to survey a wide cross-section of these individuals with the help of CCC members and provide a summary of the results.
Anyone may participate in the survey by sending the name and address of a non-attending Adventist or someone who has left the denomination to info@waterhousepr.com or by filling out an address card online or at the information desk at the Collegedale Community Church.
FAQ
Will the information I give be kept confidential?
Yes! This information will be kept confidential and used for research purposes only. The names and addresses will not be sold or added to any mailing lists. If you fill out a card at CCC do not place your personal information on the card so there will be no record. If you submit information online, no record of your e-mail address or name will be kept. Survey participants will not know who added them.
How will I know if the person I submitted participated in the survey?
This information will not be available. No records will be kept connecting specific answers to an individual, consequently survey information will be added to a database anonymously. CCC will be announce the results of the survey this summer and offering live forums if you would like to continue to participate in this program or invite a friend to participate.
What will the addresses be used for?
If you submit a name, that person will receive a survey, they can participate anonymously or give their contact information to be included in further information regarding the results of the survey.
My friend is attending a non-Adventist church; can they be included in the survey?
Absolutely! It is not the intention of this project to pull anyone away from a loving and fulfilling church experience. In fact, their new experience makes them even more qualified to fill out a survey.
Will my friends and family be overwhelmed with calls and mailers?
No. No one will be harassed in any way, and anyone has the option to decline to answer any question or can be removed from the list at any time. They will also be given the opportunity to sign up to receive more information about the results and live forums or to participate anonymously through online communications.
How can I find out the results?
Check the CCC Web site for updates. The official results will be available this summer. A live forum will take place to announce the results and discuss steps the Adventist church can take to meet the needs of our communities.
When do I need to turn in my addresses?
Waterhouse Public Relations must have all addresses by Jan. 30 in order to move forward with mailing the surveys.
What if I don’t have a mailing address for the person I’d like to add to the list?
If you provide an email they will receive the online version of the survey.
I live out-of-state – can I submit addresses?
Yes! We want our survey to be filled out as many times as possible. Please send us these addresses. You can enter the names and address at http://www.collegedalecommunity.com/waterhousenamecollection.
What are the long-term goals of your project?
By pursuing this information we hope to develop some very clear goals for the Adventist church and its future, not only in our community but nationwide. Some analysts believe that 50 percent of Adventist churches will close in 15 years and mostly this is due to a lack of retention. We feel that it is our responsibility to hear people’s stories and opinions before we move forward. Of course our ultimate goal is to provide a loving and accepting church family that teaches the truth from the Bible.
I want to submit names via email – what should I include?
